SARRACENIA RUBRA SUBSPECIES WHERRYI
Western Sweet Pitcher Plant
The plants shown are in a one-gallon pot, and are representative of the mature plants available now!
The Western Sweet Pitcher Plant is a medium-tall
Sarracenia, and is an ideal choice for
a beautifully decorative setting. They freely produce large amounts of pitchers up to 18 inches tall, and can fill up a nice sized pot in a season. The pitchers are a light greenish brown on the outside, but the mouth and the inside of the hood and pitcher are a glowing green coloration. What a beautiful constrast! These plants will produce multiple green-petaled flowers in the spring as well.
As with almost all of the American Pitcher
Plants, this species is very easy to care for, but please read over our American
Pitcher Plant Care Sheet, included with your purchase, for tips and suggestions.
