'Red Dragon' Venus Flytrap

As with all VFTs, the 'Red Dragon' Venus Flytrap (also
called 'Akai Ryu') is nothing short of stunning! No matter what age you are, the sheer
unique nature of VFTs will have you watching them yawn for their next meal. Each plant
grows from a central point, producing bunches of leaves. These leaves each have a trap at
the end, and as their prey touches small trigger hairs on the inside of each trap, the trap
SNAPS SHUT, preventing escape.
Unlike typical flytraps, the Red Dragon Venus Flytraps have
a brilliant crimson coloration throughout the entire plant when they are given plenty of light.
Each order comes with a care sheet containing all the information you will need for years of
enjoyment from your new plant!
We currently carry well-started plants in three-inch pots.
We do not sell VFTs bareroot, as we believe the minimal savings versus potted plants does
not outweigh the good possibility that bareroot plants may not survive the shipping and
transplanting.
PLEASE NOTE: As of November 2010, we have a good supply of these wonderfully colored little jewels. However, there have been periods in the past when we have struggled to have them in stock, or have not been able to get any at all due to a nationwide shortage of Red Dragon flytraps. While we strive to continually provide our customers with the most diverse plant availability and best possible plants, these sporadic shortages may cause these
flytraps to become unavailable at times, and we encourage our customers to get them while we still have them!
